The cast of Bute’s Christmas pantomime are putting the finishing touches to their performances before the curtain goes up on the eagerly-awaited show.
Bute Amateur Players’ version of Aladdin will be performed at Rothesay Pavilion on December 21 and 22 - but we got a sneak preview behind the scenes when we caught up with the cast and crew for a group photograph on Sunday afternoon.
The main cast members include Lauren Beau Stirling as Aladdin, Kaya Dobosz as Princess Jasmine, Gary Hawell as the wicked magician Abanazer, Silvana Hawell as the Genie of the Ring, Graeme Allan as the Emperor, Rosemary Lonie and Fiona Hawke as the Maids of Bute, Connor MacDonald as the Genie of the Lamp, Daniel Sweet as Wishee-Washee, Irene McGregor as Dragonara (the Emperor’s evil sister) and Julie Marchant as the panto dame, Widow Twankee.
There’s also support from pupils of the dance schools on the island run by Anne McIlroy and Sam Kean and from members of the Rotehsay and District Pipe Band.
