Golf: McArthur moves into Winter League lead at Kingarth

GRAHAM McARTHUR has taken over top spot in Bute Golf Club’s Winter League table with John Kernaghan moving into second place after the latest round of the competition on Saturday.

Both players considerably improved their aggregate scores to leapfrog former pacesetter Ian McDougall, who has been out of action over the past two weeks.

A score of 37 points on Saturday was enough to push McArthur into a four-point lead on a total of 308, while Kernaghan, a former winner, finished joint top with Robert McKirdy on Saturday, both players scoring 41 points.
