Graham Fisher won the inaugural Bute Motor Company Open at Port Bannatyne Golf Club in style on Sunday, finishing ten shots clear of his nearest rival at the end of the competition’s 36 holes.

In ideal conditions for golf, Fisher posted a two-under-par 66 for a net 58 in the morning round, seven shots clear of vice-captain John Black - and then proceeded to do it all again after lunch, carding the best score of the afternoon in the form of a net 64 for a two-round total of 122.

Graham Dunn was second in the afternoon round, though second place overall went to Alastair Shaw on 132. David Driver was third on 135, courtesy of a better inward half than fourth-placed Jim Thom.

Full report in this week’s issue of The Buteman - on sale from Thursday, June 5.
