Rothesay Academy’s S4 Achieve Class held a Great British Bake Off-style coffee morning on Friday at the joint campus, and the whole school entered into the competitive atmosphere with staff members hoping to be crowned Star Baker.

With Mrs Smith and Mr Briggs serving as Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood, teachers from all departments put forward their home-baked treats to be judged before their offerings were sliced up and served to hungry customers at the coffee morning.

We understand that one teacher had been practicing his pancakes all week in anticipation of the competition!

However, there had to be a winner, and Rothesay Academy’s ‘Star Bake’ was awarded to the maths department. The event raised a fantastic £215 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
