Burgers and hot food from North Bute Primary School will be on sale at the sport gala day at Rothesay Joint Campus on Sunday, March 23. The island's other schools will also be present, selling teas, coffees and snacks, running a tombola and raffle and offering face painting.

All four Bute schools will be present at this Sunday’s gala day in Rothesay celebrating the sporting activities available on the island.

As well as a selection of more than a dozen sporting or exercise pursuits for visitors to the free event at Rothesay Joint Campus to sample, North Bute, St Andrew’s and Rothesay primary schools and Rothesay Academy have also been invited to take part and raise funds for themselves.

North Bute Primary will be providing hot food in the form of hot dogs, burgers and bacon rolls, while St Andrew’s Primary will be running a tombola and face painting stall.

Teas, coffees and a tuck shop will be on offer at the Rothesay Primary stand, while sports leaders from Rothesay Academy will be raffling a Scotland rugby jersey.

All four schools’ stands will be located in the assembly hall at the campus, while the sports activities themselves - including archery, tennis, kickboxing, trampolining, gymnastics, shinty, cricket, rugby, football and golf, as well as yoga, circuit training, Powerhoop and kettlebells sessions - will be held in the campus games hall, gymnasium, dance studio and all-weather pitch.

The event runs from 12 noon until 3pm. Entry is free, and visitors of all ages and sporting inclinations are welcome.
