Life is slowly returning to something approaching normality for the Rothesay family whose home was destroyed in a devastating fire earlier this month.

Chris and Kim Roberts spoke to The Buteman this week after accepting a cheque for £3,187.33 - the proceeds of an online fund-raising drive organised by local businessman and family friend Andy Walters in the wake of the blaze at Elmbank House on February 2.

Thanking the community on Bute and beyond once again for their generosity, Chris said: “If there is such a thing as normality, we’re getting there. It’s really opened my eyes to the kind of community we live in.”
