The Colintraive Hotel, a stone’s throw across the Kyles from Bute, has received two accolades at the Scottish Hotel Awards in Edinburgh.

The hotel’s owner, Patricia Watt, accepted a commendation in the ‘rural hotel of the year’ category, on which hotels are judged on good food, hospitality and good local knowledge within their community, and also received a silver medal in the ‘people of excellence’ category for her chef skills.

The 2014 awards, celebrating the best in Scotland’s hospitality industry, took place at the Grand Sheraton Hotel in Edinburgh on Sunday, April 27.
