The pupils of St Andrew’s Primary donned their walking shoes early on Friday morning for a sponsored walk before school began, to help raise money for UNICEF’S Day for Change.

UNICEF Day for Change is a fundraising day, where school pupils get the chance to do something different in exchange for making a small donation to UNICEF.

Some of the pupils and their teachers popped into The Buteman office on Friday morning to tell us all about the plight of children around the world who don’t have access to education, are forced straight into work, or have to walk miles and miles each day just to go to school. This year UNICEF will be donating all money raised to try and allow every child their right to an education, and the pupils from St Andrew’s Primary - who were very knowledgable on the subject - hoped their sponsored walk, and bring-and-buy sale later that day, would go some way in contributing to this excellent cause.
