Two sheep have died following a suspected dog attack last week in a field at Meikle Grenach.

Two sheep have died and a third wasn’t expected to last the night following an apparent dog attack on a flock near to Meikle Grenach last week.

Around 60 sheep, owned by Mr and Mrs Howard of Windy Hall, were being contained in a field belonging to Meikle Grenach. Two were found dead in the field at the weekend, a third was alive but seriously ill, and a further 11 have sustained what looks like bite marks to their bodies.

If you have any information, please phone the non-emergency telephone number 101 and ask to be connected to Rothesay police office.

All dog owners are asked to exercise caution, particularly as we approaching lambing season. Farmers have the right to destroy any animal which poses a threat to their livestock.
