Last chance to have your say on health redesign on Bute

Time is running out for members of the public to have their say on redesign plans affecting Thomson Court day centre.

At its special meeting in November the Argyll and Bute Integration Joint Board (IJB) agreed to pause the redesign work proposed for Thomson Court Day Centre for a period of six months.

This pause was to allow for a period of engagement and involvement with communities and staff.

The Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is now nearing the end of this period of engagement and wish for anyone who has not already shared their views or ideas with them to do so before February 28.

Allen Stevenson, Head of Adult Services (East) for the HSCP said: “This is an essential stage in the redesign of your local service and I would like to thank everyone who has taking the time to drop into one of our events.

“It is really important that we listen to you and give you the opportunity to share your views. We continue to have very helpful discussions with people and I want to assure you that we are listening.

“We are now close to the end of the engagement period. I would encourage as many people as possible to take part in the process as your views and feedback are extremely important to us and will greatly assist in the development of services that are fit for the future.

“If you have any suggestions on what services could be provided to support many more people through day care services and within the community, we want to hear from you.”

The last in the series of engagement events will take place on Monday, February 20 from 2pm-5pm and 6pm–8pm, in Rothesay’s Moat Centre.

A feedback drop-in event will also take place where staff and local communities can see what people have said. This will be held on Monday, February 27, from 2pm – 4pm, in the Isle of Bute Discovery Centre, Rothesay.

The results of the community and staff feedback will be used as the HSCP look forward to how health and social care services might be organised in the future for the people of Bute.

The feedback report will be available to the public at the end of the engagement process.
