The next steps towards a theatre show packed full of Rothesay Pavilion memories takes place tonight (Wednesday, June 24) - and you can be a part of it!
Achievement Bute is putting together a performance based around people’s memories of the Pavilion, to be acted out during the building’s ‘grand closing weekend’ at the end of September.
To find out more about helping to shape the show - and about sharing your memories of attending, or taking part in, events at the Pavilion over the years - Achievement Bute is holding an ‘Absolute Beginners’ workshop at the venue on Wednesday evening at 7pm.
There’s also a drama and dance workshop, again under the auspices of Achievement Bute, taking place at the Pavilion this Saturday, June 27, from 1-4pm, led by actor and writer Linda McLaughlin and choreographer Natasha Gilmore.
Achievement Bute manager Dorothy McDonald said: “The show will be based around people’s real memories, performed by locals and will feature everything from drama to dance to games to music to keepie-uppie skills - so whether you’re a dramatic diva or a technical whizz, whether you’re five or 95, you’ve got something to bring to a celebration of what has always truly been the people’s Pavilion.”
All ages, skills and experience welcome are welcome at both events. If you can’t attend either of this week’s two events, you can still get involved: contact Dorothy McDonald at Achievement Bute, 9 Castle Street, Rothesay, call (01700) 505558 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
