Bute Community Band will be hosting their very first solo concert on Tuesday, May 27 at Rothesay Joint Campus - and if you haven’t got your tickets, there’s still time.
The windband band, which formed in 2010, boasts over 20 regular members and includes instruments ranging from euphonium to violin, and everything in between, will be performing music from Dances With Wolves, John Philip Sousa’s The Thunderer, and Hebrides Suite by Clare Grundman, among many others.
The night will also feature a solo performance from trumpet, cornet and flugelhorn player John Blick, and a set by the Swing Band, formed from members of the community band.
With the chance to win a prize in the raffle, and a selection of refreshments provided by Rothesay Academy pupils of hospitality teacher Mr Malcolm Briggs’, it looks set to be a fantastic night.
Tickets - which cost £5 - are available from Bute Community Band members, Brechin’s on Bridgend Street, or on the door on the night, and the concert will begin at 7.30pm.
