Tim O’Connor and Doc Rossi bring up the curtain on a new year of top-notch live entertainment on Bute from local group Transclyde Music when they play live in Rothesay next weekend.
The pair, combining the former’s songs and the latter’s music, will take to the stage at St Paul’s Church Hall on Saturday, January 24.
Tim has Irish roots but grew up in Manchester, and draws musical influence from the likes of The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Tom Waits and Johnny Cash as well as traditional Irish folk.
Doc, meanwhile, is one of Europe’s most renowned players of the cittern - a stringed instrument, dating from the Renaissance period but similar in appearance to the flat-backed mandolin or modern bouzouki.
Tickets for their gig are available from Musicker (01700 502287) and Macqueen’s Butchers (01700 502067).
