Cyclists from throughout Scotland and beyond descended on Bute in large numbers on Saturday and Sunday to take part in the Bute Festival of Cycling.
Organised by the island’s cycling club, the Bute Wheelers, the Rothesay Weekend, as it’s known to many of its participants, featured the legendary Serpentine hillclimb, an individual and a pairs time trial, and round-the-island road races for ladies, gents and novices.
For the third year, the weekend’s programme also included a cyclocross race around the Meadows and Public Park area on Saturday evening, acting as a curtain-raiser to the main Scottish cyclocross season, which gets under way next month.
