The first of two festive events aimed at increasing visitor numbers and improving trade in Rothesay in the run-up to Christmas takes place this weekend.
The VisitBute event, featuring live bands, buskers, food and drink and late-night shopping opportunities, takes place in the performance space on the corner of High Street and Montague Street this Saturday, November 28.
The entertainment kicks off at 2pm and will run until around 7pm - and will benefit from a temporary 4x4m dome in the performance space to keep any rain away!
A VisitBute spokesperson said: “We are hoping that the town’s traders will contribute to the festive atmosphere by staying open late on the 28th and using their imagination to create a welcoming, festive atmosphere in their businesses to welcome the increased visitor numbers expected.”
The organisation of the event has been supported by a grant of £2,850 from Argyll and Bute Council.
