The only medal round played this weekend was the visitors’ medal played on Friday, and with the weather at last showing some improvment, the scoring on the course did also.
Two players tied on net 64 with Stevie McDonald, who shot a 1 over par 70 less 6 winning on the count back from Peter Crawford who had a 2 over par 71 less 7.
Four players scored 5 twos with Peter Crawford being the greedy one, scoring a two at the 4th and 13th.
Shaun Kernaghan also had a two at the 4th hole, Stevie McDonald got his at the 8th and David Moffat had his two at the 18th.
Sunday was the social team match against Kyles of Bute with the Rothesay team winning by four games to one, but as usual these games are as much about the social side as the match itself.
Both teams would like to thank George and Coreen for providing an excellent meal and the bar staff for their service.
This coming week starts with the Friday Medal, followed on Saturday with the Learmonth Trophy which was cancelled earlier in the season due to the trip to Machrihanish.
Sunday is the Seniors at Port Bannatyne and Wednesday, May 29, is the Texas Scramble which is a 6pm shotgun start.
The draws have been made for the knockout competitions, and all players should try to get ties played ASAP as no extensions will be given.
