Port Golf: Saturday and Sunday ‘shot’

Next weekend at Port Bannatyne Golf Club will see a Saturday and Sunday ‘shot’ played, with the Spring Handicap on Saturday and the JMF Tankard on Sunday.

The Spring Handicap is the traditional finish of Winter Rules but obviously this will depend on the condition of the course so competitors should read the entry sheet carefully to see the state of play.

The JMF Tankard on Sunday has an entry sheet posted on the notice board and every effort will be made to ensure those that have a preferred tee time will get it. For all others it will be a rolling ballot and a case of turning up on the day and taking whatever tee time is available.

First tee time is now 9.00am and last tee time will be 1.30pm, with the prize giving at 5.00pm. Yet again, the club is grateful to the Fergus family for their continued sponsorship of this competition.

The entry for the knock-out competitions close this weekend so if you have not entered your time is short! There are also entry sheets posted for a few open competitions.

* The McMillan Qualifiers are, at this time, unknown but will be printed in next week’s issue of The Buteman.

* Our next opponents in the Mail on Sunday 5 Man Team Classic is an away-tie at Louden Gowf with arrangements still to be finalised.
