The qualifying rounds for the club championship at Port Bannatyne at the weekend were not without problems for several competitors.
Five players had to mark their ball on Saturday evening and continue their first rounds very early on Sunday as torrential tain flooded the greens.
However, Sunday proved to be ok on the weather front and all competitors managed to complete the necessary 36 holes.
This year’s qualifiers are a mixture of young guns and the usual suspects: it really is great to see the club’s promotion of junior golf bearing fruit with Alistair Shaw, Matthew Dunn and Joe Livingstone all qualifiers for the knockout stages.
They join Steven Renfrew, Donald Standaloft, Graham Dunn, Alex Greer and Jamie Jardine in the last eight.
