Success at Dundonald Show for Bute equestrians

A STRONG contingent of Bute equestrians travelled to Dundonald on Saturday, bringing home several well-earned rosettes and trophies.

Twelve-year-old Sophie Whitelaw riding Bart (pictured), won two 3rds in the show-jumping and 1st prize in the ‘Chase-me-Charlie’.

Nicola McDonald, riding Raine, won two 1sts in the showing classes, as did Susan and Laura McArthur on Destiny. Laura went on to win 1st prize, riding Calon, in the Mountain and Moorland section.

Jessica Reid, riding Rose, had a great day showing, winning 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th prizes.

More excellent results at the show went to Andrew McMillan and Rocky, with a 3rd pize showing and a 3rd and 4th in the show-jumping.

Marissa Ballantyne, in her first competition riding Ebony, won two 2nds and a 4th in the show-jumping, and Sasha Kernaghan, riding Belle, took home two 2nds, a 4th and 6th prizes.

All in all, it was a very successful day out and a great confidence-builder for the forthcoming season.
