The first play off in the ‘New for 2016’ competition at Rothesay Bowling Club - the McKellar’s League Trophy - took place on Wednesday, May 25.
A full green saw 26 players play off for their shots and points which would overall be the decider on winners and losers. Winning the sweep on the first night of play with a winning score of 18 shots was the pairing of Donald McKellar and Hugh Charker.
The league will run on Wednesday nights for 12 weeks throughout the summer. Players will have their top six scores accounted towards their chances to win. Play all 12 games and the top six scores will be submitted but should someone only manage to play six out the 12 then those six will be put forward.
Anyone wishing to join in should note that the entries will close every Wednesday at 7pm sharp to allow for a draw to be made. No exceptions will be made - you have to be in by 7pm.
This Saturday, June 4, we host the David Walton Memorial Trophy. Names for the draw are being taken in the Clubhouse now.
The Scottish District Championships are under way. The Mixed Pairs have already been out and the rest of the qualifiers begin this Sunday, June 5, throughout the region of District 26.
Good Luck to all those out representing Rothesay Bowling Club!
