Donald Kinnear led Bute Curling Club to a 6-4 win over Port Glasgow in the islanders’ latest game in the Greenock Day League.

With Donald as skip and Donnie MacLeod, Bill Stein and Hugh Yeamans completing the rink, Bute began well, taking the first end by one shot against a Port Glasgow rink skipped by Bob Dillon.

The two rinks were well matched, with ends being one alternately, leaving the scores level at four shots each after six ends.

Bute took the seventh end by another single, and finally managed to break the pattern of the game in the final end, completing victory with another single shot.
