The development of school cricket on Bute has been given a substantial boost this week by a donation of practice equipment to the local club.
The equipment has been provided to Bute County Cricket Club by Cricket Scotland and the UK based suppliers Cricket Factory.
Delighted coach Alan Peacock said: “Not only does this equipment provide a fun way of introducing cricket at primary school level upwards, but elements of it are used to sharpen the fielding skills of England players, so our club team members will also benefit.”
Cricket Factory’s Core Skills Set will get plenty of use when four weeks of coaching at Bute’s primary schools starts on April 27, leading up to a competition for local youngsters at the Port Bannatyne Gala Day on Sunday, June 7.
