Leading pairs book Port semi spots

GRAHAM FISHER and Ian McFarlane are the only leading pair from last year’s Rothesay Motor Services Winter League to make it into the last four of the 2011 competition.

Fisher and McFarlane, who finished third overall in the 2010 tournament, booked their last four place this time around with victory over Ian Shaw and Taff Barnsley in Sunday’s quarter-finals.

They will play off for a final place against Whitelaw and Whitelaw, who qualified for the semis by defeating Cassidy and McKirdy on Sunday.

The other semi-final will see Preston and MacKillop face off against Reid and Driver, those pairs having knocked out Robertson and Standaloft and Jardine and Paterson respectively.

Another pair of defeats leaves Black and Pedder battling against Muldoon and Officer to avoid the wooden spoon.

Fixtures for this Sunday, March 20, are as follows.

8.40am Preston & McKillop v Reid & Driver, 8.50am Whitelaw & Whitelaw v Fisher & McFarlane, 9am Standaloft & Robertson v Shaw & Barnsley, 9.10am Jardine & Paterson v Cassidy & McKirdy, 9.20am McPhail & Barnett v Slaven & McDonald, 9.30am Bobys & Martin v Chrystie & Whitelaw, 9.40am Crichton & Lintermans v Renfrew & Peacock, 9.50am Bicker & Marshall v Dunn & Standaloft, 10am Black & Pedder v Muldoon and Officer.
