George Hanson's Captain's Day was held on Sunday, with 36 players taking to the course at Rothesay Golf Club.
The weather was, at best, mixed but a good day was had by all competitors.
Jimmy Crawford (club master and full time professional) won the first prize of a very smart Callaway bag with a stableford score of 38 points, beating serial winner Jimmy Burke on countback.
The two Jimmies also picked up some nice sweep money.
Allan Smith Jnr was third, beating Richard Dunn and George Reynolds on countback. Geo won a nice wedge as scratch winner.
Twos were scored by Ian White, Stan Gaston, Colin Spear, Ian Simpson, George Reynolds and Allan Smith Snr.
Closest to the pin at the 4th was Jimmy Burke, at the 8th Ian Simpson, 11th Hughie Charker, 13th Ian White, and 18th Ian Simpson.
The best outward half came from Stephen Reynolds, and best inward half from Stuart Robertson
Thanks go to the captain for his sponsorship of this much-enjoyed competition.
* The John Maitland Trophy will be played on Saturday.
* After much discussion it was agreed to make the Inter Pub Trophy a single stableford competition. This will perhaps put less stress on competitors to return scores. A decision is still to be made on handicap limits.
All local licensed premises are encouraged to enter teams for this extremely popular competition held this year on September 4.
* All members should be aware that coring work will commence on September 27 (weather dependant). All greens will be cored and sanded, and there is a sheet in the clubhouse for volunteers.
