Willie Glen returned his best-ever gross score around the Rothesay course in the club’s John Maitland Trophy competition on Sunday.
Willie’s level-par 69 gave him a net score of 62 and a three-shot winning margin over the best of the rest, with Donnie McDermid, Michael Murty and Colin Spear tying for second place.
The tournament was moved back 24 hours to allow a large Rothesay contingent to take part in the Dunoon Trophy on Saturday, in which Rothesay club championship runner-up George Reynolds finished in fourth place in a field of more than a hundred players.
Back at Rothesay, Allan Smith’s net 67 was the lowest score of this week’s Friday medal, while the winners of the June medal, played on June 18, were Graham McArthur, Graeme Shaw and Jim Torrance in divisions one, two and three respectively.
