Golf: Strathie tightens grip on Rothesay singles contest

STUART STRATHIE continued his domination of the Bike Shed Winter League singles at Rothesay on Saturday with a winning score of 41 points.

Stuart, who can now boast six first or joint first places from the first seven weeks of the competition, now has a commanding lead, with 275 points to his name – 36 ahead of nearest challenger Bob Gemmell on 239.

It was another tied week in the pairs competition on Sunday, with Jason MacKay and Andy Docherty winning on the better back nine from Neil Ritchie and John Duncan after both pairs scored 44 points.
