Craig Rodgers of Torrance Park Golf Club in Lanarkshire won the prestigious McLean Cup at Rothesay on Saturday with a net score of 63.
Rodgers, playing off a handicap of 11, finished one shot clear of Port Bannatyne’s Roddie Shaw, with Robert McKirdy of Bute Golf Club one further shot behind in third place.
The winning Rothesay player in the impressive field of 118 players was George Hanson, whose three-over-par 72 for a net 65 included an eagle two at the fifth but was only good enough for fourth place.
The scratch prize was split between four players - Stevie McDonald, Alan Smith jnr, Rory McEwan and B. Muir of Dalmahoy GC, all of whom went round in 72 shots.
