Two one-week-only pairings topped the standings in the third round of the Winter League pairs competition at Rothesay Golf Club on Sunday.
Greg Fisher and Willie Glen took first place with 45 points, beating brothers Hughie and Craig Charker by one point thanks to pars at the last two holes, while the Charkers, who had been one point ahead with two to play, could only manage bogeys at the 17th and 18th.
The only pair to score a two on Sunday were George Reynolds and Allan Smith, who managed the feat at the eighth hole en route to a total of 42 points.
Saturday’s torrential rain, meanwhile, put paid to the third week of the singles Winter League competition.
