AN INCREDIBLE run of eight threes over nine holes - including six birdies - sent Graham McArthur on the way to a personal best round of gross 64 in the Winter League at Kingarth last Saturday.

The blitz began at the eighth and continued to the 16th - and he came within an ace of covering the inward half in 29 shots when his birdie putt from 12 feet lipped out at the final hole.

The six-handicapper had beaten par at the eighth, ninth, 11th, 13th, 14th, and 16th en route to a stableford total of 46 points, seven clear of his nearest challenger.
