A junior member of Rothesay Golf Club is heading for Spain after qualifying for the finals of the European Junior Golf Tour.
Thirteen-year-old Lachlan Reynolds, who has retained his Rothesay membership after moving from the island to the Glasgow area, played in his first two-day competition on the tour last week, winning at the Mere Golf Resort in Cheshire with a score of 78 and then finishing as runner-up at Hesketh Links in Southport with an 81.
Taken together, those scores ensured that Lachlan, who plays off a handicap of nine and is also a member at Hilton Park Golf Club in Milngavie, was the overall winner of the two-day event - earning him a place in the tour finals in the Costa del Sol in October.
Dad Tommy said: “It’s been a great and rewarding week, and good experience to take with him.”
