Jim Thom returned to the ranks of the first class section at Port Bannatyne Golf Club this week thanks to his winning net score of 62 (75-13) in the club’s November medal.
A two at the tenth hole saw Jim romp to victory in the second class division of the competition, while his handicap of 11.9 is now the lowest it has been since he joined the club three years ago.
David Bodys made a welcome return to form to win the first class medal with a net 64 (76-12), while Donald Standaloft’s gross 69 was the best scratch score of the day by six shots. The CSS was 66.
Elsewhere, Calum MacPhail has been confirmed as this season’s Order of merit winner at the Port with a points tally of 184, 14 clear of Jim Thom, with Alex Greer junior third on 127.
