Brothers Alex and David Greer won the popular Standaloft Greensomes tournament at Port Bannatyne Golf Club on Sunday.
The duo, the first out on the course, returned a score of 57.2 which none of the 26 pairs who followed in their footsteps could match.
John Black and Graham Dunn were runners up with their score of 61.2, while Rothesay Golf Club’s David Cameron and Bob Liddell took third spot with a score just 0.4 behing the second pairing.
* Meanwhile, Stephen Renfrew retained his Port Bannatyne gents’ championship title with a two-hole defeat of Donald Standaloft in a rain-delayed 36-hole final on Saturday.
Calum MacPhail won the handicap championship, for the Arthur Slack Trophy, with a comfortable defeat of Robert Jardine in the final, while Elaine Thom retained the ladies’ championship with a win over lady captain Ann Kennovin.
