Donald Standaloft lifted the Bute Motor Company Open title at Port Bannatyne on Sunday with a two-round net score of 129.
Standaloft beat par to register a net 63 in the first round of the 36-hole competition, two ahead of Alan Stewart. And though he couldn’t quite match that feat in the afternoon - when a net 66 gave him a share of the runner-up spot over the second 18 holes, one behind David Bodys - his overall total was enough to secure the trophy by a three-shot margin ahead of last year’s winner Graham Fisher.
Alastair Shaw posted the best scratch score of the competition after shooting a total of 156 shots over the two rounds.
