Captain Allan Smith was the star of the show in the third week of Rothesay Golf Club’s Winter League with a hole-in-one on Sunday.
Allan’s ace came at the par-three 11th in Sunday’s third round of the tournament’s pairs competition and, allied with the only two of the day at the nominated eighth hole, set him and his partner George Reynolds up for the best score of the day of 45 stableford points.
Runners-up on Sunday were Willie Glen and Gordon Shaw with 44 points.
Michael Murty returned to winning ways on Saturday after his summer lay-off, scoring 41 points to win the third week of the singles competition, one ahead of Neil Ritchie.
