Angus Murray continued his good run of recent form in the Three in One Winter League singles competition at Rothesay Golf Club with a winning score of 39 points in the tenth round of the tournament on December 28.
With an outward half of 20 stableford points and a back nine of 19, his round - which included a two at the 13th hole - saw him finish one point ahead of Craig Charker, runner-up for the second week in a row, this time with 36 points.
A hard overnight frost made scoring very tricky in Sunday’s round of the Winter League pairs competition, but Allan Laughlan and Stuart Strathie rose to the challenge to post a total of 39 points, putting them one ahead of Craig and Hughie Charker in the weekly standings.
Stuart Robertson was the winner of this week’s other competition, the Boxing Day medal, with a total of 38 stableford points. No fewer than five players finished just one shot adrift, namely Graham McArthur, George Hanson, George Reynolds, Craig Charker and Jimmy Ewing.
