Golf: Angus tops weekly singles round at Rothesay

After losing to Ivan Cowie on the final green last week, Angus Murray went one better this time by winning Saturday’s round of the Bike Shed Winter League singles competition at Rothesay Golf Club.

Angus had a score of 38 points, consisting of 21 on the outward nine and 17 on the back nine, leaving overall leader Stuart Strathie to take second place three points behind.

George Reynolds and Allan Smith took top spot ahead of Willie Glen and Gordon Shaw in Sunday’s round of the pairs Winter League, winning on a countback after both pairs scored 42 points.
