Bute’s youth and adult football teams both fell to defeat away from home on Saturday, September 15.

Rothesay Brandane AFC went down 2-0 to Caledonian League new boys EKFC Whitehills at the K-Park Training Academy in East Kilbride - a second away loss in a row for the island side after their 4-2 defeat at Symington Tinto seven days previously.

Bute YFC’s under-16s, meanwhile, were beaten 4-0 by Eastwood Juveniles in their first away fixture of the season in the Paisley, Johnstone & District YFL.

Coach Roddie Leitch said afterwards via the team’s Facebook page that he had “no complaints” about the result against a decent team - although he did make an appeal for referees to start looking after his players, saying: “They should not wait until a player takes a sore one before blowing the whistle.”

Next Saturday, September 22, BYFC have a league fixture at home to Barrhead.
