Football: Smith lifts lid on career at Rothesay Q&A

AROUnd 60 people attended a question-and-answer session with Gordon Smith, the former chief executive of the SFA, at the Victoria Hotel in Rothesay, writes Nino Robertson.

Subjects covered during the evening included the former Brighton striker’s infamous ‘And Smith must score!’ miss in the 1983 FA Cup final at Wembley, Craig Levein’s tactics during his spell as Scotland boss,reconstruction of the Scottish league system and his time at Rangers as director of football under the regime of the discredited Craig Whyte.

The charity Q&A raised £908 for Bute-based charity Calum’s Cabin.
