Jordan Selkirk grabbed the winning goal as Rothesay Brandane grabbed their first three points of the new season with a stuttering 3-2 win at home to Weir Recreation on Saturday.

Gary McGregor’s long-range free kick gave the hosts the lead after just eight minutes, but the Danes’ centre half was in the bad books ten minutes before the break when his clumsy foul inside the penalty area allowed Weir to level from the spot.

Selkirk put the hosts in front seven minutes later, but Weir levelled for a second time on the hour after a scramble inside the six-yard box - only for Selkirk to snatch the winner ten minutes from the end after Eddie Lench was denied by the woodwork.

This Saturday, September 1, the Brandanes are at home to Rhu Amateurs - kick-off at the stadium in Rothesay’s High Street is at 2.30pm.
