Bute under 15s are beaten on home soil

Bute YFC’s under-15s entertained North Kelvin United in Rothesay on Saturday, writes coach Roddie Leitch.

The hosts started strongly, with CJ, Jordan and Craig playing well. After some fine play from Lewis out wide a cross fell to Niven, who in turn cut it back for Ryan Driver, who saw his weak finish pounced on by the away keeper.

The visitors opened the scoring on the break, before a disastrous 15-minute spell before half-time saw the hosts concede a further three goals to end the game as a contest.

The boys toughened up a bit after the break and were outstanding in the middle of the park, but a late penalty made the final score 5-0.

The match referee gave man of the match to captain Jordan Leitch, but special mentions must go to Ciaran Woods and Jonah Templeton, with Ewan Mulholland playing well when he came on.

This week’s game is away to Stamperland Juniors. Travel arrangements will be issued at training. Can I just remind ALL players that if you don’t train you don’t play.
