Delta Foods have recently renewed their sponsorship of the local boys club, Bute Youth Football Coaching, to the tune of £2500.
This is the second year in a row that Bill Wallace, owner of Delta Foods, has put money into the club. Billy’s son (pictured) said: “We just want to put something back into the community, and what better than to keep kids off the streets and play football in a safe, controlled environment.”
The money will be put towards the team of players who are currently playing in the Paisley Johnstone and District league on Saturday afternoons.
BYFC coach, Roddie Leitch, told us: “This is their last year as a team before heading off to college or university, or going into jobs, and after this I am taking a year out of league football. I’ll still be doing the club coaching on a Monday and a Wednesday before taking a younger age group the following year for two or three seasons.
“When this season ends, I will decide which age group I am taking, I will then train them separately, getting them ready for league football the following year which will include a few friendlies, home and away.
“Everyone at the club, the players, the parents and coaches, would like to thank Bill, Andy and Delta Foods for their massive show of support for the boys and this club.”
