In the singles league on Saturday at Rothesay Golf Club two players, Richard Dunn and Michael Murty, tied on 38 points with Richard winning on the count back scoring an impressive 24 points to Michael’s 18.
Ron Cuthbertson and Jim McClean finished in third and fourth position with scores of 35 points.
In the overall leaderboard Hughie Charker still leads the way with 214 points with 6 counting scores, followed by Ron Cuthbertson on 204,Micheal Murty on 202 and Jimmy Ewing on 201.
In Sunday’s pairs competition Darren Leonard and Nicky Simmons got back to winning ways with a score of 45 points,20 on the front nine followed by 25 points on the back nine.
Second place this week went to Gordon Shaw and Willie Glen with 42 points,23 on the front nine which was the best front nine on the day followed by a poor back nine of only 19 points.
At long last the twos pot at the 4th went on Sunday with Michael Murty holing from eight feet to finally see the pot lifted. No other twos were scored at the 13th or 18th holes so these two will be rollovers next week.
In the overall leaderboard with only three weeks remaining Michael Murty and Ivan Cowie 338 (39) have taken a one shot lead over Jimmy Crawford and Gary Steele 337 (40) followed by Jimmy Ewing and Bob McKechnie 329 (39), Gordon Shaw and Willie Glen also 329 (38), Darren Leonard and Nicky Simmons jump up to 5th place on 325 (37), 6th is Hughie and Craig Charker on 324 (38), and 7th is Ron Cuthbertson and Bobby Liddell on 323 (38).
