Colin Spear returned the lowest net score of the season so far in the John Maitland Memorial trophy on Saturday, June 29, a 78 less 20 for a net 58 to win by 5 shots from the unlucky Thomas McCready who was runner up with a 73 less 10 net 63.

Over the last few weeks Colin has been threatening to do something like this as he has been playing well and even with his handicap cut to 17 still looks a danger.

Wednesday, June 26, was the first round of this year’s winter cup - of all things - and in division 1 Graham McArthur shot a level par 69 less 5 net 64 to win by two shots from Malcolm Brown 73 less 7 net 66.
