Following her ordination as a deacon in the Scottish Episcopal Church last month, Rothesay resident Elaine Garman has spoken to The Buteman about her journey.
Elaine’s day job is as a public health specialist with the NHS in Argyll and Bute - and she told us that she sees her new post within the church as a “good fit” with her professional duties.
“I think faith groups of any kind have something important to give to that compassionate care,” she said, “and the church does need to look at what’s relevant to people today.”
Elaine will work in the Bute and Cowal parish, covering St Paul’s Church in Rothesay and Holy Trinity in Dunoon.
