Sean is 2011 Bute Games chieftain

TELEVISION weatherman Sean Batty will be the chieftain at this summer’s Bute Highland Games, organisers have announced.

The popular STV forecaster will follow in the footsteps of many illustrious recent predecessors, including actor and Spirit Aid founder David Hayman, Taggart star Blythe Duff and writer, broadcaster and trade unionist Jimmy Reid, when he takes possession of the Games ‘cromach’ on Saturday, August 20.

Sean joined STV in August 2007 after four years as a roaming weather presenter for the BBC. He has also worked with the Met Office’s media unit in London and as a weather observer at the School of Army Aviation in Hampshire.
