Scottish Opera will be visiting Bute today as part of its ‘theatre in a lorry’ tour.

In conjunction with Argyll and Bute Council’s culture and libraries department, the Scottish Opera team will be travelling in their self-contained mobile theatre to provide people in Argyll and Bute with the opportunity to see professional operatic performances right on their doorstep.

The group will be staging adaptations of Figaro and Mikado. Each 25 minute performance will be brought to life by a storyteller, singer, musicians and a series of colourful illustrations.

The theatre in a lorry will visit the Visitors’ Centre Courtyard at Mount Stuart, Isle of Bute, on Thursday, June 2 as follows:

3pm - A Little Bit of Figaro

4pm - A Little Bit of Mikado

Tickets are free and available from staff at the Visitor Centre or by calling 01700 503877.
