Plans for a Rothesay street party in celebration of the Queen’s 90th birthday are well under way.
Depute Lieutenant of Argyll and Bute, Stewart Shaw, told us that the party on Sunday, June 12, will kick-off at 12.50pm with the arrival of the Lord Lieutenant of Argyll and Bute who will officially open the day.
Members of the public can take advantage of picnic benches in Guildford Square and Montague Street by bringing along a lunch, and can browse the stalls of island charities hoping to raise some money.
Entertainment will be provided by Bute Community Band, Bute Ceilidh Band, the Ballianlay Choir, Rothesay and District Pipe Band, Daniel Sweet, among others, and there will be fun activities for the whole family.
The day will be brought to a conclusion with a Big Dougie’s Family Party.
