The owners of two shops in Rothesay town centre have applied for planning permission to refurbish the front of their premises.

Bute Pet Supplies, located at 23 Montague Street, and Fraser Gillies, at 30-32 Montague Street, have asked Argyll and Bute Council for permission to carry out the refurbishment work.

Both businesses are also seeking the green light to install non-illuminated fascia signage - a replacement in the case of the pet shop, and two new signs for Mr Gillies’ menswear store.

Bute Pet Supplies, run by Jim and Val Lucas, is located within the Rothesay Townscape Heritage Initiative priority zone, while Mr Gillies’ shop is sited just outside it.
