Rothesay Primary garden crew springs into action

THE new season arrived in style at Rothesay Primary on Sunday as the school’s fund-raising group held a busy day of outdoor spring-cleaning.

The school grounds were the focus of a comprehensive sprucing-up at the ‘Spring Into Summer’ event, with parents, pupils and staff wielding a variety of garden tools to get the area looking its best now that winter is a thing of the past.

Helpers also lent a hand in the Green Fingered Garden, where the school’s pupils grow plants, herbs, fruit and vegetables, many of them used in the kitchens at the Rothesay joint campus of which the school is a part.

Sunday’s programme also included the official opening of the school’s adventure playground, with Lauren Crichton’s name drawn from a hat as the pupil to be given the job of cutting the ribbon.
