Rothesay Pavilion’s new development manager, Stuart Thomas, has shared his thoughts on the job, the building and the island with The Buteman.
Stuart’s work will include the organising of a ‘grand closing weekend’, to be held in September before the building’s doors are shut for the refurbishment work, and devising a programme of events to keep the Pavilion in the community’s thoughts for the duration of the closure.
“Immediately before this I’d been living in London for a while, working for the British Council and then as a freelance,” he said.
“But I’d been looking for an opportunity to get back to Scotland, and I thought this was a fantastic one, because it ties together a lot of the interests that I have.”
